Billy Christian Films

The movie proposal titled Darah Biroe (Blue Blood) by director Billy Christian and producer Vera Lasut has been awarded movie financing at the NAFF (Network of Asian Fantastic Festival) held in Puchon, South Korea last Wednesday (July 25). Billy says enthusiastically, "At last after the preparation and presentation process, I'm happy that I could attract the attention abroad. Our team, consisting of Vera, screenplay writer Baskoro Adi and I will be granted a fund in the amount of ten million won or thirty four thousand dollars for our movie project. It's indeed a movie finance pitch at the Puchon Film Festival."

Billy was one of ten directors at this year's Sanubari Jakarta and his Darah Biroe was competing in Project Spotlight -- one of the sessions held at NAFF -- with other Indonesian movie projects such as Beautiful Beast (by Paul Agusta), Trauma (Sidi Saleh), Curious Grandmas: The Murder of Annet Van Houten (Lucky Kuswandi), and Homestay (Nitta Nazyra Noer). In 2007 Kala (Joko Anwar) had the privilege to be selected as the finale screened at the PiFan (Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival). In 2009 three Indonesian movies also saw the limelight, including Pintu Terlarang (Joko Anwar), Rumah Dara (Mo Brothers) and Merantau (Gareth Evans). Last year, Indonesia was represented by The Perfect House (Afandi Abdul Rahman) and Madame X (Lucky Kuswandi), both held at the same event.
